If you're a Godzilla fan and the kind who gets excited over “glowing mechs,” then this is something you simply can't pass up. At last, it's here: the second release in the Movie Monster Series Kagayaki (Radiance). This time, it's the Type-3 Kiryu (2002) Absolute Zero version from “Godzilla x Mechagodzilla”!
It's not just a figure—it's a “luminous weapon” infused with soul. Let us tell you all about its incredible charm.
The LED-powered intensity captures the exact feel of the film. The biggest highlight of this Kiryu is undoubtedly the LED lighting gimmick. The chest-mounted “Absolute Zero firing port” shines brilliantly, and thanks to a new structure, the eyes also light up vividly!
It's not just about glowing. It visually recreates the tension from the film, when energy builds up before firing. Just inserting the LED unit into the body already fills you with excitement.
Completely newly sculpted—a level of detail that's borderline obsessive. You over there thinking, “Didn’t Mechagodzilla already come out?” This version is a completely different beast from the previous Mechagodzilla (2002).
It features a serious build, combining hollow soft vinyl parts with injection-molded components for enhanced detailing. The chest armor, back unit, and weighty legs—every part is packed with the aesthetics of a mechanical lifeform.
The texture and density are addictive the more you look at them.
Metallic paint showcases the “shine of a weapon.” The body is coated in richly metallic silver paint. And it's not just any silver. Each part is painted with subtle nuances so the expression changes depending on the angle of the light.

The previous Kagayaki release, “Burning Godzilla,” also drew attention, but this Type-3 Kiryu is an improved version that takes the lighting effects even further. The structure using a light-guiding pillar to illuminate the eyes is a true testament to “technological evolution.” It truly embodies the ever-evolving weapon spirit of Kiryu from the “Heisei VS Series.”
